Thanks to the mainstream popularity of CBD, it seems we are seeing it everywhere. From Whole Foods to CVS, healthy smoothies to burgers, soda, and alcohol… there’s no denying that the CBD craze is everywhere. People all around the world are curious about CBD and want to enjoy the health benefits!

Most people are wondering how long it takes to feel the effects after taking CBD. First of all, it’s important to be patient when starting CBD. Many people get frustrated and give up too fast, or don’t do enough experimenting to figure out which dose is appropriate for them. The same way the dosage amount varies from individual to individual, the time it will take to feel the effects varies from person to person. Some people feel the effects of CBD immediately and will notice better sleep the first time they take CBD. For others, it might take weeks or longer to notice any changes.

When taken sublingually, CBD typically enters the system in about 20 minutes. It may take up to two hours to enter your system if taken as an edible or capsule. If you vape a CBD e-liquid the effects are usually felt within minutes and give more of an uplifted feeling, but it doesn’t last as long as the oil, edibles, or capsules.

What if you’ve been taking CBD oil for a while and are still not feeling anything?

If you have been taking CBD for an extended period of time and you are not noticing any changes, chances are that it is not a high enough dose. When beginning CBD, it is best to start with a small dose. On average, 25mg of CBD a day is sufficient for most people. For somebody that isn’t struggling with major inflammation or mental health issues, a 10mg daily serving at night should be enough for most people to sleep better, but occasionally more may be needed. For more “extreme” issues such as depression, anxiety, and chronic pain you might need as high as a 60mg daily dose.

It is very important to familiarise yourself with how your body responds to CBD before increasing the dose. The dosage of CBD can be increased slowly until the symptoms improve. This, of course, is different for every patient and should be monitored. You will need to experiment to find out the right dosage needed, which is also why it’s important to be patient and give it time.
